How the Obama administration is changing politics

On his website, change.gov, the Obama administration has created a different type of press conference. Essentially can ask a question and it will be answered by the someone, including Joe Biden and Barack Obama. Fucking brilliant.

Sarah Palin please disappear

Just when you thought she was gone, she pulls you back in:

In the interview, Palin criticized the news media's coverage of her and her family, telling Ziegler that CBS News anchor Katie Couric and comic actress Tina Fey had been "exploiting" her. Palin gave Couric a rare interview at the beginning of her campaign for vice president, and Fey frequently impersonated Palin on "Saturday Night Live."

Palin singled out the Couric interview as condescending, particularly a question about what she reads and, according to the governor, "What do you guys do up there?" In fact, Couric never asked that question but did press, unsuccessfully, for the governor to state specific newspapers she read, which Palin never answered fully.

Oh please. Watch the videos again. Sarah Palin got tough questions, for sure. But they were no tougher than the ones Joe Biden got in his interview with Katie Couric. Palin was just too stupid to answer them with any sort of intelligence.

Edward Kaufman to replace Joe Biden in the Senate

Some news out of Delware today:

Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware will be replaced in the United States Senate by his longtime aide, Edward Kaufman, when Mr. Biden resigns the seat to become vice president.

Delaware Governor Ruth Ann Minner announced on Monday that she would name Mr. Kaufman, the senator’s chief of staff for 19 years and a close personal friend, to fill the vacancy through 2010. Mr. Kaufman, 69, said he intended to retire after two years, leaving opening the possibility that Senator Biden’s son Beau, the state’s attorney general, could run in 2010.

Not really big news, I know, but it's good to know just in case you're on Jeopardy or something.
